Fiona Kane
From a very young age, I loved drawing. So much so that, it became my main focus at school. I was so sure that my career would be in art and, when I left school, went on to study graphic design in Glasgow.
But life has a way of throwing us curveballs and I found myself haring off in an entirely different direction.
For the last 40 odd years, I have worked in the health service, moving into the private and charitable sector as my career progressed. It brought me to Colchester in 2012 and I have been very happy here.
I have dipped in and out of my love for art along the way, whether it was just for the joy of it or for friends and family.
I am now retired and can finally indulge my love of drawing and painting with my love for the many beautiful walks around me. I am particularly interested in the influence and play of light, be it in nature or objects, and seek out those moments in time and place that that inspire this.
