Ian McDonald

I have had an interest in photography since I was a young. I even tried developing my own prints in my early teens. As I got older, and pressures of work and family occupied most of my time, my photography became limited to holiday and family ‘snaps’.

I had always promised myself that, when I finally retired, I would make more time for photography.

About seven years ago, I joined Chelmsford Camera Club and, very soon, photography became an important part of my life. The programme of competitions, guest speakers and members evenings inspired me to embark on a journey of continuous learning.

My favourite subjects to photograph are nature, sport, travel and, after a recent trip to Namibia, landscapes.
